Yet another shot of the cormorants.

Although it is somewhat hard to see in this photo - one of the most unique features of the island. . .were the bugs - millions of bugs.

Swarms of tiny flies - both in the air and the ground, piled in drifts in places - covering birds, rocks, eggs, and smothering the countless spider webs set to capture them.
