On the Road again
On the Road again

So my sister has been trying for some time, to get me to take a shot for her with a travel/raod theme. . . I finally went out and got some - this being one of them, I am not really pleased with it. This is a composite image of two pictures(one exposed for the trees, and one for the sky), using the EXIF from one (don't remember which). I used a Maxxum 3600HS flash positioned over the bags for the spotlight look. I converted this to black and white but personally I like the color one better. What do YOU prefer?

Edit: Is this size too big? I like keeping the width a constant 800px, but I have to scroll on my 1024x768 screen. . .

  • Colours are pretty damn cool. Excellent pic.

  • Color is key in this picture. the red and blue bags go great together and the lighting on them is incredible. VERY creative shot. You might try darkening the sky to a deeper blue a little in PS.

  • My screen is 1680x1050 on a 21 inch monitor, and I have to scroll, too. Some people like 'em big, I prefer to see the whole thing at once.

That being said, this is a really nice picture. I think I do prefer the b&w version, though, it's a little less surreal.

  • I like it. I think there's maybe a little too much flash - but then I'm with Paul, in that I cannot see the whole screen at once so I can't really tell. I also couldn't open the b&w version, which I think would look fabulous because it's a clean shot.

  • well I think you did a great job on this one. It really does give off a travelers mentality to it.

  • Wow...what a photo. At first I thought it was sunlight instead of flash...very clever. The lighting in this shot is awesome...practically unbeatable. Very creative and artistic. The link doesn't work for me when I try to view the b&w, but I don't know how you could live without all that color (specifically the red and blue bags and the yellow lines. Surpurb shot!

  • I love it, the light is such a great element here, as is the colour. I only wish it were a tad smaller so it fitted on my screen without scrolling!
