Cajun Lunch
Cajun Lunch

What can be more Louisiana than a Great Egret in a swamp with a crawfish hanging off his beak?

I took this at the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center in New Orleans. I spent a couple of hours following this guy around while he was hunting. This is the best of about a 10 shot series — he struggled to swallow this feisty little mud-bug for a minute or two, but swallow him he did.

Mark is away for a couple of weeks, and he's asked me to be a guest poster. I'm very honored to have been asked, and I hope I can come close to Mark's quality. If you're interested, visit my own photoblog at Moments in Time .
